UMW Toyota launches GR Supra track edition and GR Yaris automatic variant in Malaysia

UMW Toyota Motor has unveiled two new additions to its Gazoo Racing (GR) range in Malaysia: the Toyota GR Supra Track Edition and the Toyota GR Yaris Automatic Variant. Both models promise to bring motorsport-bred engineering to Malaysian roads, catering to a wider audience of performance enthusiasts.

Toyota GR Supra Track Edition: Sharper, Faster, More Focused

The GR Supra Track Edition refines Toyota’s flagship sports car with a suite of upgrades aimed at serious drivers.

Under the hood, it features a 3.0-litre inline-six turbocharged engine (B58), producing 388 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, with the automatic variant achieving 0–100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

Performance enhancements include:

Retuned Adaptive Variable Suspension for improved grip
Track-specific Electric Power Steering and Limited Slip Differential calibration
Enlarged 374 mm front brake discs with 4-piston Brembo calipers

Aerodynamic improvements such as expanded tyre spats, aero flaps, and a carbon fibre ducktail spoiler increase downforce. Reinforcements to the suspension and stiffer stabiliser bars sharpen cornering agility.

Visually, the GR Supra Track Edition rides on 19-inch matte black forged alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. Inside, it features black Alcantara and leather upholstery with GR embroidery, red seatbelts, and a JBL 12-speaker HiFi audio system.

Standard Toyota Supra Safety features include Pre-Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, and intelligent parking sensors.

The GR Supra Track Edition is priced from RM698,000 in Malaysia.

Toyota GR Yaris Automatic Variant: Rally DNA with Everyday Usability

Joining the refreshed lineup is the Toyota GR Yaris Automatic Variant, bringing new levels of accessibility without compromising the model’s rally-bred spirit.

Powering the GR Yaris Automatic is the world’s most powerful three-cylinder turbocharged engine:

300 PS and 400 Nm of torque
0–100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds

The highlight is the 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, developed with feedback from Toyota’s World Rally Team. Unlike conventional automatics, this system reads driver input earlier for quicker, sharper gear changes. Paddle shifters add to the connected driving feel.

Supporting hardware includes a standard cooling package with a sub radiator, intercooler spray, and a combined air- and water-cooled ATF cooler, ensuring consistent performance in Malaysia’s tropical climate.

The GR Yaris Automatic also introduces Launch Control, enhancing off-the-line acceleration, and retains motorsport-tuned suspension for spirited handling.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, featuring Pre-Collision System, Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Expert Mode for experienced drivers seeking a more dynamic drive.

The GR Yaris Automatic Variant is priced at RM325,600 in Malaysia.
