Isuzu Malaysia appoints Tomoyuki Yamaguchi as new CEO, set to enhance network & service standards
Isuzu Malaysia has welcomed its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tomoyuki Yamaguchi, who has set a clear agenda to strengthen the brand’s dealership network, elevate service quality, and ensure optimal parts availability across the country.
Mr. Yamaguchi officially took over the role on 24 April 2025, succeeding Mr. Shunsuke Okazoe, who has returned to Japan to assume the position of Vice President, Japan Sales Division at Isuzu Motors Ltd.
A graduate of Toyo University, Mr. Yamaguchi brings with him nearly three decades of experience within the Isuzu Motors organisation. Since joining the company in 1997, he has worked extensively across international markets, particularly in Russia, Ukraine, and other CIS countries. His most recent posting saw him revitalising the commercial vehicle business at Isuzu Motors South Africa, a role that further sharpened his expertise in dealer development and customer engagement.
In his first remarks as CEO of Isuzu Malaysia, Mr. Yamaguchi praised the brand’s strong foundation in the country, acknowledging the loyalty built among Malaysian customers over the past two decades.
“Isuzu Malaysia remains a model of excellence from a global perspective. The operations here have established a base of loyal customers who recognise the strengths and capabilities of Isuzu vehicles. This augurs well for the establishment of life-long customers of the brand. However, we need to continuously strive to make every customer experience a positive one,” said Mr. Yamaguchi.
Looking ahead, Mr. Yamaguchi outlined his key priorities:
- Expanding the scope of in-house services offered by dealerships to ensure quality-assured support for customers.
- Strengthening the Isuzu dealership network across Malaysia.
- Enhancing warehousing and parts inventory management to facilitate quicker parts availability, keeping pace with the increasing number of Isuzu vehicles on Malaysian roads.
With Mr. Yamaguchi at the helm, Isuzu Malaysia aims to reinforce its customer-centric approach, ensuring that every interaction with the brand not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.
