Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance – RM2,168,888

We’ve seen the SL43 and SL63 4Matic+, but this new SL 63 S E Performance is the full-fat version and is the most powerful SL in history, priced at RM2,168,888 (on-the-road without insurance).
A plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the flagship roadster pairs a hand-built 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 (612 PS, 850 Nm) up front with a 204 PS/320 Nm electric motor mounted at the rear. With both working together, total system output is 816 PS and 1,420 Nm, good for 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a 317 km/h top speed.
Drive goes to all four wheels via a nine-speed MCT gearbox and AMG’s fully variable 4Matic+ system. A two-speed gearbox for the electric motor and a mechanical LSD on the rear axle ensure immediate response and maximum traction. A 6.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, directly cooled for consistent performance, provides up to 13 km of all-electric range.
The SL63 S E Performance comes loaded with AMG Active Ride Control with roll stabilisation, rear-wheel steering, AMG Night Package, Aerodynamics Package, and Exterior Carbon Fibre Package. Carbon ceramic brakes (420 mm front, 380 mm rear) hide behind 21-inch forged wheels, clamped by bronze six-pot front calipers.

Sharing its updated MSA platform with the new SL, the second-generation AMG GT Coupe lands in Malaysia from RM1,882,888.
Now with 2+2 seating and all-wheel drive, the new GT 63 delivers 585 PS and 800 Nm from its 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine, mated to a nine-speed MCT gearbox. Century sprint takes 3.2 seconds, before hitting a 315 km/h top speed.
Its silhouette shares obvious cues with the SL, though recessed door handles and a wide rear track give it a more hunkered-down stance. AMG Night and Carbon packages, 21-inch cross-spoke forged wheels, and a fixed rear wing come as standard.
Like the SL, there’s extensive use of active aero. A two-stage AirPanel system in the front grille opens and closes based on cooling needs, while a patented underbody carbon profile drops 40 mm at 80 km/h to create a Venturi effect under the front axle.
Other performance tech includes AMG Active Ride Control with electromechanical roll stabilisation, rear-axle steering, an electronically controlled rear LSD, and AMG’s fully variable 4Matic+ system that can go from all-wheel to pure rear-wheel drive depending on conditions.

Inside, the GT Coupe features AMG Performance seats, an 11.9-inch central display, digital instrumentation with AMG Track Pace telemetry, and a head-up display. The AMG Performance menu can display data like wheel angles, oil pressure in the roll system, and AWD distribution in real time.
