Jetour T1 to make Malaysian debut at Penang Autoshow

Jetour Auto Malaysia has teased the unveiling of its new SUV, the Jetour T1, through a teaser post showing what appears to be the vehicle’s side profile. Accompanying the illustration is a caption stating that the Jetour T1 will be unveiled in two days at the 2026 Penang Autoshow, with the event streaming live across social media.

Under the bonnet, the Jetour T1 is offered in China with two powertrains. The first is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 184 PS and 290 Nm of torque, while the second is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 255 PS and 390 Nm of torque. Both are four-cylinder units. The 1.5-litre engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), while the 2.0-litre engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission (AT).

Notably, in China, the 1.5-litre variant is front-wheel drive, whereas the 2.0-litre variant features all-wheel drive and comes with eight driving modes, similar to the Jetour T2 in Malaysia. A total of four variants are offered in China, though it remains unclear which versions will be available in Malaysia.

The Jetour T1 is positioned below the recently launched Jetour T2, featuring a design that is less rugged and boxy than its larger sibling. In terms of dimensions, the Jetour T1 measures 4,706 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. Compared to the Jetour T2, the T1 is 79 mm shorter, 39 mm narrower, and 35 mm lower.

Finally, the Jetour T1 is priced between 124,900 yuan and 154,900 yuan in China. Converted to Malaysian Ringgit, this equates to approximately RM72,343 to RM89,719. For context, the Jetour T2 currently starts at RM156,800 in Malaysia. More details are expected soon.
