Michelin Primacy 5 energy and Pilot Sport 5 energy launched in Malaysia – from RM614 and from RM930

Michelin Malaysia has launched two new premium tyre line-ups: the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy and the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy. The Michelin Primacy 5 Energy is a triple-A tyre with the longest life in its segment, according to Michelin, while the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy is a double-A tyre engineered for a new age of energy-efficient performance, inspired by motorsport heritage. Both tyre line-ups are designed for energy efficiency and are compatible with all types of vehicles.

Focusing first on the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy, it is Michelin’s first triple-A premium tyre line, achieving the highest European A-label rating for external noise, wet grip, and rolling resistance. It features Michelin Silent Rib Gen-3 and Michelin Piano Acoustic Tuning to deliver a quiet and comfortable ride.

Supported by Michelin MaxTouch, it maximises contact with the road and distributes acceleration, braking, and cornering forces evenly to extend tread life, while also improving wet braking effectiveness. Together with the Michelin Slim Belt, which features thinner top belts and uses less raw material, the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy improves fuel consumption or battery range for electric vehicles.

Moving on to the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy, it is a sports tyre with a double European A-label rating for rolling resistance and wet grip, engineered for energy-efficient performance and born from Michelin’s motorsport legacy and expertise. It features Michelin Dynamic Response, ensuring optimum steering control, as well as Michelin Piano Acoustic Tuning to minimise tyre noise for a quieter drive. Like the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy, it also features Michelin MaxTouch, which extends tread life by maximising contact with the road and evenly distributing acceleration, braking, and cornering forces.

Together with the Michelin Slim Belt and the Michelin Energy Passive compound on the tread shoulders, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy improves fuel consumption or battery range for electric vehicles. It is further complemented by the Michelin Bi-Compound in the centre of the tyre surface, featuring Michelin Grip Adaptive technology, which provides superior grip in both dry and wet conditions. Both new premium tyre ranges also feature 360-degree Michelin Premium Touch technology, covering the entire sidewall for a luxurious visual effect.

The Michelin Primacy 5 Energy is available in 19 sizes for 18-inch to 21-inch wheels, with recommended retail prices ranging from RM614 to RM1,624. Meanwhile, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy is available in 17 sizes for 18-inch to 21-inch wheels, with recommended retail prices ranging from RM930 to RM2,006. Both are available at all Michelin authorised tyre dealers nationwide.
