2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift open for bookings in Malaysia, special RM115k intro price
Malaysia, best-selling non-national MPV, the Mitsubishi Xpander has now been given a facelift for the year 2024. Now open for bookings (with a special introductory price of RM115,000) the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander brings an array of improvements to the 7-seater MPV (Although there’s one major thing that remains unchanged, an we’ll get to that matter soon).
The 2024 facelift for the Malaysian-spec Xpander is a literal one, with the front end now getting a new head light setup along with a new grille and front bumper. The initial two-level headlight design has allowed for an easy refresh for the Xpander’s looks.
Other updates to the Xpander’s exterior include a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels, a new side skirt finished in dark silver, and a tailgate spoiler. All else, the Xpander sports the same exterior equipment.
With the Thai-spec Mitsubishi Xpander facelift equipped with a new continuously variable transmission (CVT), one would expect the Malaysian-spec Xpander to receive the same update. That is however, not the case as the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift for Malaysia retains the same 4-speed automatic gearbox along the same old 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine.
As before, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander still puts out the same 104 hp and 141 Nm and sends power to the front wheels only. Besides the new CVT, the Thai-spec Xpander facelift also gets a new exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. But just like the CVT, it is not equipped on the Malaysian-spec 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift.
Inside, the new 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift receives a significantly revamped dashboard which adopts a more sophisticated look. The Xpander now gets fake wood trims, a new (better-integrated) head unit, a new digital HVAC control unit, electronic parking brake (EPB), and a wireless mobile phone charger.
The rest of the cabin remains largely the same with the manually adjustable seats and air blower vents. One small new item for the rear passengers is the new 2nd-row centre armrest that now gets two cupholders. The Mitsubishi Xpander is also equipped with a front and rear DVR set.
In terms of safety, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander still doesn’t come with any form of advanced safety features. Standard safety items on the Xpander include brake auto hold, hill start assist, a 360-degree camera, 2 airbags, and a new emergency stop signal system.
Interested customers may already place their bookings for the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift. A special introductory price of RM115,000 is available for a limited time only and the first 500 customers who book and register the XPANDER via the Mitsubishi Online Showroom will receive a Naturehike Camping Wagon worth RM400.
