2024 MG5 launched in Malaysia, RM93,900 – 1.5L NA, CVT

The MG5 has been launched in Malaysia and it is priced at RM93,900 on the road before insurance. This price is inclusive of the MG Care Package which offers 5 years unlimited mileage warranty on the vehicle itself and 7 years unlimited mileage warranty on the engine and transmission of the vehicle. However, with a 100th anniversary campaign, a RM7,000 introductory offer brings the price temporarily down to RM86,900.

SAIC Malaysia has introduced the all-new MG5 to the local market, further expanding the MG lineup with a sleek, sporty fastback coupe-style sedan. Designed to appeal to a younger audience, the MG5 combines dynamic looks, a well-appointed interior, and impressive driving technology to stand out in its segment.

The exterior of the MG5 is a bold statement, the fastback coupe silhouette gives the MG5 a sleek, sporty appeal, ensuring it turns heads wherever it goes. In addition to its stylish appearance, the MG5’s large wheelbase of 2,680mm doesn’t just contribute to its athletic stance, it also improves driving stability and handling, making it agile car to drive on both highways and city streets. The MG5 will be available in 5 colors, namely the Nuclear Yellow, Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Black Pearl and Camden Grey.

Under the hood, the MG5 is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline 4-cylinder engine, equipped with a Dynamic Variable Valve Timing (DVVT) mechanism. Paired with an 8-speed iCVT transmission, this engine produces 114 PS and 150 Nm of torque.

Thanks to Bosch cooling and the high-efficiency Atkinson cycle, the MG5 delivers an impressive fuel efficiency of 17.5 km/l. This powertrain strikes an ideal balance between performance and fuel economy, making the MG5 a practical yet engaging choice for daily driving.

The 2024 MG5 also comes equipped with MG Pilot Assist, a suite of advanced safety features, such as:
