Quartz Black now available for all Proton X50 variants

Starting from April 2026, the Quartz Black exterior colour option is available across all Proton X50 variants. In March 2026, Proton introduced the Quartz Black finish for the Proton X50, but it was exclusive to the Flagship variant and limited to 200 units only. Proton has typically reserved black paint finishes for selected models, limited-run editions, and military personnel vehicles.

Apart from the new colour addition, the Proton X50 retains all its existing powertrain, exterior, interior, and safety features. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged i-GT engine paired with a 7-speed DCT, driving the front wheels. The engine produces 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 45 litres.

Exterior features remain unchanged, with automatic LED headlights with DRLs and auto-folding door mirrors coming as standard. The Premium variant adds roof rails and a power tailgate, while the Flagship variant gets a sporty tailgate spoiler.

Inside, notable features include walk-away auto lock, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and rear air vents as standard. The Premium variant adds leatherette seat upholstery and ambient lighting, while the Flagship variant features a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of safety, the Proton X50 is equipped with six airbags across all variants. However, Level 2 ADAS is exclusive to the range-topping Flagship variant. Prices remain unchanged across all three variants, starting at RM 89,900 for the Executive, RM 101,800 for the Premium, and RM 113,300 for the Flagship.
