Launched in Brunei, Proton Saga MC3 enters first export market

Proton International Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (PICSB) has announced that Brunei is the first export market to receive the new Proton Saga MC3, just three months after it was launched here in Malaysia. It is the second model from Proton to launch in Brunei in 2026 after the Proton X50 Facelift. Proton International Corporation Sdn. Bhd. Chief Executive Officer, Edmund Lim Meng Thong said, “The launch of the All-New Proton Saga in Brunei is a definitive statement of PROTON’s intent to grow its export volume by increasing its presence in the entry-level segment in regional markets. By leveraging our own proprietary technology, such as the AMA platform, we aim to secure a larger share of the ASEAN market while solidifying our export-led growth strategy to align with our long-term goals.”

PICSB aims to replicate the success of the Proton Saga MC3 in Brunei, where more than 20,000 units have been registered in Malaysia. The momentum is continued from the Proton’s export growth of 6,000 units recorded last year, as Proton advanced toward its goal of having exports contribute 30% of total sales by 2030 and expanding its international footprint to at least 32 countries.

For the Brunei market, the new Proton Saga MC3 is offered with the following variants and pricing:

  • Proton Saga Executive – B$16,800 (RM 51,712)
  • Proton Saga Premium – B$18,800 (RM 57,868)

Direct price conversion to Malaysian Ringgit entails RM 51,712 for the Saga Executive, and RM 57,868 for the Saga Premium. The new Proton Saga also comes with a 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty plus free labour service for the first three service times. Additionally, an early-bird discount of B$500 is offered for the first 100 customers.
