The all-electric Lexus RZ is now on Lexus Malaysia’s official website, with a “Registration of Interest” form available for interested customers.
With the recent emergence of various EVs from multiple brands in Malaysia, it is only a matter of time for Toyota/Lexus to join the game.
The Lexus RZ shares the same e-TNGA platform as the Toyota bZ4x and Subaru Solterrra, which is the first dedicated EV platform by the giant Japanese car maker.
Powered by a 71.4-kWh battery pack, the Lexus RZ provides an approximate range of 450 km (J-WLTC range).
So far, Lexus Malaysia states on their website that the Lexus RZ comes with DIRECT4 AWD, steer-by-wire technology, and an optional yoke steering wheel.
The yoke steering wheel has a quicker response, allowing drivers to maneuver tight spaces without excessive hand movement.
Six colour options are mentioned, namely Ether Metallic and Sonic Copper, with optional bi-tone livery.
With a 150-kW front motor and 80kW rear motor, the Lexus RZ provides 230 kW of maximum power output, which is 70 kW more than the AWD version of the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra(160-kW total with 80-kW front motor and 80-kW rear motor).
Lexus aims to be a 100% EV brand by 2035. Registration of Interest for the Lexus RZ is now open on Lexus Malaysia’s official website.
