Isuzu D-Max remains Malaysia’s second-best-selling pick-up truck
Isuzu D-Max remains Malaysia’s second best-selling pick-up truck by cementing its position in the segment with a 15% market share despite the pickup truck market plummeting with only 45,181 units sold, a drop of 7.3%. Based on JPJ data, a total of 6,748 Isuzu D-Max pickup trucks were registered last year, compared to the 6,847 units in 2024, a marginal 1% dip in sales. Nevertheless, Isuzu Malaysia says the Isuzu D-Max’s performance in 2025 was due to “strong reputation for delivering exceptional value” and Malaysians’ recognition of the Japanese brand.
For 2025, Isuzu Malaysia saw the company achieve its highest-ever market share in Malaysia, with 56.1% of the commercial vehicle market.
Isuzu Malaysia CEO, Tomoyuki Yamaguchi says, “Our established roots in providing a product portfolio that completely satisfies customers’ requirements remain a key factor for Isuzu’s continued popularity here in Malaysia. The ability of a well-positioned dealership network that quickly adapted to the changing demands of customers and an after-sales backbone system that is fully focused on keeping our customers constantly moving have all played a part in the brand’s growing popularity.”
