Isuzu D-Max holds No.2 spot in Malaysia with 3,081 units sold, 16% market share in H1

Isuzu Malaysia continues to hold the No.2 spot behind the Toyota Hilux with 3,081 units of the Isuza D-Max sold in the first half of 2025. That translates to a 16% market share, helped by a particularly strong showing in Q1.

Sales remain overwhelmingly skewed toward the 1.9L variants, which made up 85.8% of total volume. Among them, the 1.9L 4×4 Auto Premium stood out with 18.6% of total sales.

The range was expanded in February with the introduction of the Low Ride 4×2 variant. Altogether, the line-up now spans nine configurations from basic workhorse to the fully loaded X-Terrain.

“We’ve seen consistent momentum from traditional truck users and first-time pick-up owners who’ve realised how liveable and capable these vehicles can be,” said Isuzu Malaysia CEO Tomoyuki Yamaguchi. “In the second half, we’ll continue focusing on delivering strong ownership experiences.”

To widen its reach, Isuzu plans to bring its trucks to more customers outside the usual showroom settings. “Accessibility will be our key focus in H2,” added COO Kenichi Kudo, hinting at more outreach and experiential campaigns.
