iCAUR V23 launched in Malaysia – from RM120k, up to 501km range

Chery’s sub-brand, iCAUR, has introduced the iCAUR V23 model to the Malaysian market. It is offered in two variants, namely the 2WD which cost RM119,800 and iWD for RM132,800.

The iCAUR 03’s sibling measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,845 mm in height, and it has a 2,735-mm long wheelbase. In comparison with the 03, the V23 is 186 mm shorter, 5 mm wider, 130 mm taller, and its wheelbase is 20 mm longer.

 

Externally, the iCAUR V23 features LED headlights in a circular housing with LED strip DRLs, and a storage container mounted at the back of the car. Standard equipment for the iCAUR V23 include:

The iWD variant adds:

  • 21-inch wheels fitted with 265/45/21 tyres

Moving inside the cabin, there is a gigantic 15.4-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. A brief overview of the interior equipment includes:

  • Column mounted gear selector
  • Multifunction steering in faux leather
  • Electric-adjustment driver seat
  • Electric-adjustment front passenger seat
  • Centre arm-rest with cup holder.

The iCAUR V23 also comes standard with 5 driving modes:

Exclusive to the iWD variant is a special Off-Road mode.

In terms of safety, a comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite is standard across the board. Key features include:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
  • Door Opening Warning (DOW)

The 2WD variant is paired with a 59.9 kWh LFP battery and a single electric motor at the rear axle. The technical breakdown of the 2WD are as follows:

  • 136 PS and 180 Nm of torque
  • 0-100 km/h in 11 seconds
  • 401 km range (NEDC)
  • 6 kW AC charging
  • 85 kW DC charging
  • 140 km/h top speed

The iWD variant features an 81.8-kWh NMC battery and a dual-motor setup powering all four wheels. The technical breakdown of the iWD variant is as such:

  • 211 PS and 292 Nm of torque
  • 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds
  • 501 km range (NEDC)
  • 6 kW AC charging
  • 104 kW DC Charging
  • 140 km/h top speed

Priced competitively at RM119,800 for the 2WD variant and RM132,800 for the iWD variant, it comes with a 7-year warranty or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, and 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. The iCAUR V23 will come as a CBU unit from China for now, but the company is planning to develop a CKD plant in the future.
