CKD Audi Q7 now open for booking in Malaysia – 3.0L V6, mild hybrid, from RM469k

Audi Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the locally-assembled Audi Q7, marking a major milestone for the brand as it introduces its first-ever CKD model in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Slated to launch next month, the seven-seater luxury SUV arrives in a single, high-spec 3.0 TFSI S line variant, with an estimated price range between RM469,000 and RM489,000.

The estimated price positions the Audi Q7 competitively in the full-sized premium SUV segment, undercutting both the BMW X5 xDrive50e (from RM494,800) and the Mercedes-Benz GLE450 (from RM524,888). Of the three, only the Audi and Mercedes offer standard seven-seat configurations.

Under the hood of the CKD Audi Q7 lies a 3.0-litre turbocharged TFSI V6, the same engine found in the Volkswagen Touareg, but tuned with a 50 Nm torque boost for this application. The final output is an impressive:

  • 340 PS from 5,200 to 6,400 rpm
  • 500 Nm of torque from 1,370 to 4,500 rpm

Also included is a 48-volt mild hybrid system, allowing the SUV to coast with the engine off for up to 40 seconds between 55 and 160 km/h, enhancing efficiency. The engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

Performance is strong despite the Q7’s size, with the 0–100 km/h sprint dispatched in 5.6 seconds — four tenths quicker than the Touareg — before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

This Malaysian-spec Audi Q7 is based on the second facelift of the second-generation model, previously sold here at RM599,900. Now assembled locally, the refreshed Q7 brings a sharper and more aggressive look:

  • New front fascia with sharper HD Matrix LED headlights and laser high beams
  • Octagonal Singleframe grille with open hexagonal mesh
  • Vertical air inlets, and OLED taillights with customisable light signatures
  • Black Styling Package Plus with gloss black accents on the grille, mirrors, and trims
  • 22-inch Audi Sport V-spoke two-tone alloy wheels

Standard fitment of the S Line package also adds unique front and rear bumpers, body-coloured wheel arches, and a more athletic stance overall.

Inside, the Q7 continues to blur the line between SUV and tech-laden lounge, featuring a layout reminiscent of the Q8. At the heart of the cabin are:

  • 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit with 3D display of surrounding traffic
  • 10.1-inch upper infotainment touchscreen (MIB 3 platform)
  • 8.6-inch lower touchscreen for HVAC and vehicle functions
  • Four-zone automatic climate control

The S Line package continues inside with power-adjustable sports seats in quilted Valcona leather, complete with heating, ventilation, memory, and lumbar support. A flat-bottomed steering wheel completes the sporty aesthetic.

The CKD Q7 comes fully loaded with high-end features aimed at enhancing convenience, safety, and driving pleasure:

  • Head-up display
  • Soft-closing doors
  • Rear side window sunshades
  • Qi wireless phone charging
  • Audi Connect navigation system
