BYD Sime Motors to expand EV network – 34 after-sales centres, over 40 showrooms in 2026
BYD Sime Motors has announced plans to expand its EV network with new showrooms and service centres nationwide amid the rising number of BYD customers. It plans to reach over 40 showrooms and 34 after-sales touchpoints in 2026, upon completion of 9 new service centres across the north, east, central, and south of Peninsular Malaysia. In 2025, BYD Sime Motors delivered 14,407 vehicles, a 68% increase compared with 2024. This achievement rises the BYD to become the 6th best-selling brand overall in 2025, 4th as a non-national brand.
BYD Malaysia Managing Director, Eagle Zhao, said “These milestones reflect the strong partnership between BYD and Sime Motors, as well as our shared commitment to raising the standards of EV ownership in Malaysia.”
In the southern region, expansion starts with the 3S Muar outlet and the 1S Kluang outlet, focusing on expanding to Johor’s secondary cities. An addition of the 3S Kuala Terengganu outlet is set up to leverage the rising demand for BYD vehicles on the East Coast. In the Klang Valley, the 3S Sri Hartamas outlet, which is located within a shopping mall, integrates sales, service, and spare parts under one roof, incorporating vehicle ownership into their daily routine.
In the northern region, expansion continues with 3S service centres at Sungai Patani, Juru, and Ipoh. The Ipoh facility features the city’s first dedicated EV charging hub equipped with 240kWh and 180 kWh DC chargers. A flagship 3S outlet is also set to launch soon in Macalister, Penang, called the BYD Mansion, which will integrate local cultural elements into its design philosophy. The new design will subsequently be replicated across other showrooms.
Eagle Zhao added, “A comprehensive network allows BYD to provide robust support throughout the ownership lifecycle as well as greater resale confidence. Each of our newest outlets is designed to deliver a more refined showroom experience, reflecting BYD’s promise to combine advanced technology with a premium, customer-centric environment.”
