2026 Subaru Crosstrek launched in Malaysia – RM191k, EyeSight 4.0, CBU Japan
Subaru Malaysia has launched the new Subaru Crosstrek 2.0 i-S EyeSight, the successor to the second-generation Subaru XV, which was locally assembled (CKD). This new Subaru Crosstrek is a fully imported (CBU) model from Japan, priced at RM 190,788. There is only one variant available for the Malaysian market.
The Subaru Crosstrek is built on the updated Subaru Global Platform. It is essentially a lifted Subaru Impreza hatchback with SUV styling elements, such as black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and bumpers. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,480 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm.
Exterior-wise, the Subaru Crosstrek features a familiar design from the previous generation, now updated with a more assertive hexagonal grille and a chrome strip across it. Multiple C-shaped design motifs are found throughout the vehicle, including the front fog light housings, LED DRLs, and rear lamps.

Under the bonnet is a familiar 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder boxer engine (FB20D), producing 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT. A key feature of Subaru vehicles is the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which comes as standard, along with the Dual-function X-Mode with Hill Descent Control carried over from the previous generation.
