2026 Chery Tiggo 8 non-Pro variant launched in Malaysia – 1.6L turbo, different dashboard
Chery Malaysia has launched the new Chery Tiggo 8, a more affordable trim level compared to its other two variants, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and the Cherry Tiggo 8 PHEV. The new seven-seater is set to add a new variant of the Chery Tiggo 8 lineup, which offers customers seeking a vehicle that is both spacious and good overall value. The new Chery Tiggo 8 is priced at RM 129,800 on the road without insurance.
For reference, the prices of all three Chery Tiggo 8 variants are listed below:
- Chery Tiggo 8 – RM 129,800
- Chery Tiggo 8 Pro – RM 159,800
- Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV – RM 159, 800
Dimensionally, the Chery Tiggo 8 measures at 4,772 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, 1,705 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,710 mm. Boot space is up to 1,930 litres, and it is equipped with a hands-free power tailgate.

The Chery Tiggo 8 comes powered by the same engine from the Chery Tiggo 7, the 1.6-litre TGDi engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission with three different drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Cherry Malaysia says fuel consumption is at 7 L/100 km.
The powertrain specs for the new Chery Tiggo 8 are listed below:

Looking at the inside, the new Chery Tiggo 8 has a different dashboard design compared to its Pro and PHEV counterparts. The air-conditioning touchscreen is positioned below the air-conditioning vents, similar to the Chery Tiggo Cross.

The new Chery Tiggo 8 launched with a price of RM 129,800 on the road without insurance and comes with a 7-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty. There’s also an additional 5-year free service package and 1-year free insurance. The new Cherry Tiggo 8 will be available at all Chery showrooms nationwide from 24 January 2026 onwards.
