2025 BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport launched in Malaysia – RM315k, 500km range

BMW Malaysia has unveiled the refreshed BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport, an updated version of the electric sedan that made its global debut in April last year. Priced at RM294,800 on-the-road without insurance, the new model comes with styling updates and revised equipment. For those opting for the BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) package—which includes a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and six-year, unlimited-mileage service plan—the price rises to RM315,600.

This refreshed model replaces the outgoing i4 eDrive35 M Sport, priced RM10,000 lower at RM284,800 (or RM305,600 with BSI). While BMW has yet to confirm updates to the rest of the i4 lineup, including the eDrive40 M Sport and M50, such revisions are likely on the horizon.

The latest i4 eDrive35 M Sport features a refreshed exterior that includes a redesigned kidney grille with a diamond-patterned inlay, inspired by the iX2. It also gains adaptive LED headlamps with BMW Selective Beam technology and vertical, L-shaped daytime running light bars, alongside laser taillights borrowed from the BMW M4 CSL.

The M Sport bumpers carry over, but the exterior trim now adopts a satin aluminium finish, replacing the previous Frozen Grey highlights. Completing the look are 19-inch aerodynamic wheels (996M bicolour), an upgrade from the outgoing model’s 18-inch 858M units.

Inside, the updated i4 introduces a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel in a three-spoke design with a 12 o’clock marker. Other updates include redesigned air vents and a revised control panel with illuminated ambient lighting. The cabin now features M PerformTex upholstery, which is both environmentally friendly and luxurious, finished in black with M piping.

Key returning features include the BMW Curved Display, which integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen, paired with a head-up display. Other highlights are three-zone climate control, aluminium rhombicle anthracite M trim, a wireless charging pad, powered front seats with driver memory, and Connected Package Professional for seamless connectivity.

Under the hood, the i4 eDrive35 M Sport retains its rear-mounted electric motor, delivering 286 PS and 400 Nm of torque. This setup enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h.

The lithium-ion battery remains at a gross capacity of 70.3 kWh, but the usable capacity has increased slightly to 67.1 kWh (up from 66 kWh). This minor improvement boosts the WLTP-rated range to 500 km—a slight increase from the previous 483 km.

Charging options include an 11-kW onboard AC charger (Type 2) for a full charge in seven hours, while DC fast charging (CCS2) at up to 180 kW achieves a 10-80% charge in just 32 minutes.

Comprehensive Assistance Features

The i4 eDrive35 M Sport continues to come with Parking Assistant, which offers a host of advanced driver assistance systems:

•Active Cruise Control with stop-and-go

•Lane Departure Warning with Lane Return

•Lane Change Warning

•Front Collision Warning with Brake Intervention

•Rear Crossing Traffic Warning

•Rear Collision Prevention

•Speed Limit Info

Parking aids include Park Assist, Active Park Distance Control, Reversing Assistant, Lateral Parking Aid, and a Reversing Assist Camera for added convenience.

Two new exterior colours—Cape York Green and Fire Red—join the existing palette of Alpine White, Mineral White, Black Sapphire, M Portimao Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey, giving buyers more personalization options.

With its updated styling, improved range, and enhanced interior, the refreshed BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport offers a compelling package for EV enthusiasts at a price point of RM315,600. For those seeking peace of mind, the BSI package adds an extra layer of convenience, making this electric sedan a worthy contender in the premium EV segment.
