2024 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift launched in Malaysia, from RM133,800

The Toyota Corolla Cross facelift was launched at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024). It features three variants, with prices starting from RM133,800.

1.8V – RM133,800 (reduced by RM3,600)
1.8 HEV – RM140,800 (reduced by RM1,200)
1.8 HEV GR Sport – RM148,800 (replaces petrol GR Sport)

The refreshed SUV sports redesigned bi-LED headlights with sequential signals, a slimmer upper grille, and a honeycomb-patterned main grille. The GR Sport variant has a distinct sporty look with a two-tone paint job, clear lens tail lamps, and GR/GR Sport emblems. It also features stiffer suspension, a chassis brace, and a Sport ECU for sharper electric power steering.

All variants have 18-inch wheels, with the 1.8V and 1.8 HEV using dark grey metallic rims, while the GR Sport gets two-tone wheels. Five color options are available, including a new Dark Turquoise. The GR Sport offers unique combinations, such as a black roof paired with Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, or Dark Turquoise. The last colour being a new option for the Corolla Cross.

The base 1.8V includes a 4.2-inch color multi-info display (MID), while hybrid models get a 12.3-inch screen with customizable layouts and hybrid-specific displays. All variants now feature a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system (up from 9 inches), with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The interior also sees an upgrade to an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, replacing the foot-operated brake. The 1.8V and 1.8 HEV feature a black interior with dark brown accents, while the GR Sport highlights red stitching and GR branding on the steering wheel, gear knob, seats, and engine start button.

Hybrid models combine a 1.8L Atkinson-cycle engine (98 PS, 142 Nm torque) with a nickel-metal hydride battery powering two electric motors. The total output is 122 PS, and the system uses an E-CVT transmission for smooth power delivery. The GR Sport variant adds sportier tuning for better handling.

All variants come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 2.0, and this includes:

Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
Automatic High Beam (AHB)
“Remote engine start” via the Toyota MY app, allowing pre-entry air conditioning.
A powered tailgate with hands-free activation and 440 liters of cargo space, as the hybrid battery is under the rear seats.

The Corolla Cross comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. Hybrid models include an 8-year warranty for the battery, inverter, and power management ECU, extendable by two years. The facelifted model is CKD-assembled at Toyota’s Bukit Raja, Selangor plant, ensuring competitive pricing and enhanced local availability.
