Mercedes-Benz Malaysia to launch 17 cars in 2027, covering all powertrains
Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia is set to launch 17 new cars in 2027, as revealed by Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia CEO & President, Martin Shulze during a media event in Singapore. No specific identities of the 17 cars have been revealed yet, but it is said to cover all powertrain options.
Whether it is a combustion engine or electric, Mercedes-Benz will offer customers a variety of choices without compromising on safety, comfort, technology, or design, according to Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia. The reason for the media event to Singapore was to witness the preview of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric and the Mercedes-Benz CLA200 hybrid, both of which will launch in 2027. Both are locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang.
However, not all of the 17 models are strictly new cars; some of them can be facelift versions of existing models, or maybe new variants. While we wait, here are some of the candidates that can make their way to Malaysia next year, like the W206 C-Class facelift, the W502 C-Class Electric, GLA, updated EQS, GLE, and GLS. We might even get the electric AMG GT-4Door Coupe too. Again, these are mere speculations; official news to come soon.
Regardless, the expansion of its CKD EV lineup shows Mercedes-Benz’s commitment at the production plant in Pekan, Pahang, starting with the fully electric Mercedes-Benz CLA and GLC.
