Xiaomi reveals its second EV – the YU7 SUV with 681hp

Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its second electric vehicle, the YU7, following the success of its debut model, the SU7, with 112,516 units delivered since its launch in March 2024.

The YU7 borrows much of its design DNA from its sedan sibling, the SU7, while adopting a more muscular and aggressive stance suited to an SUV. The rear showcases a large diffuser and unique C-shaped taillights connected at the bottom. Adding to its rugged appeal are black body cladding and angular wheel arch cutouts.

In terms of dimensions, the YU7 measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, slightly larger than the SU7 while retaining the same 3,000 mm wheelbase.

Powering the SUV is a dual-motor setup that delivers 681hp. The YU7 will feature a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery supplied by CATL, expected to surpass the SU7 Max’s 101 kWh capacity, providing a potential range close to 800 km based on the CLTC standard.

While pricing details for the YU7 remain undisclosed, Xiaomi is likely to position it as a premium offering within its growing portfolio, with a debut scheduled for mid-2025.
