New colour teased for Perodua Aruz – Elegant Black from the Alza?
Perodua is currently teasing a new black colour for the Perodua Aruz, its 7-seater ladder frame SUV. With the text in the image reading “If your fav colour is black…”, it looks like a 6th colour option will be added for the Perodua Aruz.
The Aruz’s current colour options include Garbet Red, Electric Blue, Granite Grey, Glittering Silver, and Ivory White. In Perodua’s current lineup, the only model with a “Black” colour option is the Perodua Alza which has “Elegant Black” as one of its five colour options. For all other models, the closest-to-black option you could get is “Granite Grey”.
Already in the Malaysian market for about 5 years now, the Perodua Aruz is in need of an update to keep up with the market. Its alternatives in the Malaysian market would be the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz. It also has a fellow-brand 7-seater which is the Perodua Alza.
Compared to the Perodua Alza, the Aruz isn’t as technologically advanced. It still is equipped with Perodua’s A.S.A. 2.0 instead of the newer A.S.A 3.0. It also sports a ladder frame setup with a longitudinal 4-cylinder engine and a rear-wheel drive (RWD) layout.
Powering the Perodua Aruz is a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre inline-4 engine that puts out 102 PS and 133 Nm. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, as opposed to the new CVT that is found in newer Perodua models.
Despite not having the new Perodua A.S.A. 3.0 advvanced safety system, the Perodua Aruz is decently equipped in terms of passive safety features as it comes with 6 airbags. It also comes with a pedal misoperation control function that prevents low speed crashes.
The Perodua Aruz is sold in 2 variants – X and AV. Prices of the Perodua Aruz range from RM72,900 to RM77,900.
