Flagship Geely Galaxy M9 unveiled – full size SUV, half priced

Geely has officially taken the wraps off its new flagship SUV, the Galaxy M9, at a global launch event in Milan. Positioned as a bold new benchmark for full-size SUVs, the Galaxy M9 brings together new energy technology, advanced AI systems, and a distinctively oriental sense of luxury, all packaged in a highly competitive price range.

The Geely Galaxy M9 is a large six-seater SUV built on the automaker’s latest GEA Evo native architecture. Measuring 5205 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1800 mm in height, the M9 commands presence on the road. Geely says, its design blends Chinese cultural elements with global aesthetics, reflecting their ambition to appeal to both domestic and international markets.

Inside, the Galaxy M9 promises a spacious experience. With a 3.7-meter effective cabin length and 1.3-meter internal height, the SUV offers good comfort for all six occupants. The interior features a massive 30-inch integrated display and an AI-powered smart cabin, delivering seamless infotainment, connectivity, and personalisation. Advanced seating functions, including intelligent adjustments and comfort-enhancing materials, further elevate the passenger experience.

Powering the Galaxy M9 is the Thor EM-P super hybrid system, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. With a maximum range exceeding 1500 km, the M9 offers strong performance and long-distance capability.

Handling and ride comfort are supported by an advanced AI digital chassis, developed with input from Lotus. The vehicle also features the G-pilot H5 intelligent driving assistance system, offering a robust suite of safety and driver-assist technologies.

Geely has positioned the M9 to attract a wide audience. While its dimensions and features rival premium offerings like the AITO M9 and Li Auto L9, the Galaxy M9 is expected to be priced between 200,000 RMB (RM117,000) and 300,000 RMB (RM177,000).
