Camouflaged Mercedes-Benz EQS seen in Malaysia, launching on 22 July?

A camouflaged Mercedes-Benz EQS has been spotted in Gambang, wrapped in camouflage with the the text “Under Wraps Till July 22” adorning the sides. Are we to expect an official launch on this date?

Shared by Facebook user Stephanie J Aeria, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is seen at a charging spot that is not yet operational.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS will be the second electric car by Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia after the entry-level Mercedes-Benz EQA.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is offered in several variants across the world, with the most powerful version being the AMG EQS 53 (761 PS/1,020 Nm) and the least powerful version offering 292 PS/565 Nm.

Notice the space reserved for the engine (for the MHEV variant)

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is mainly offered with a 107.8-kWh battery, providing a range of up to 784 km (WLTP). The AMG version sacrifices range for performance, providing 586 km on the WLTP cycle.

The AC charging OBC is rated at 11kW (with an optional 22kW) while DC Fast Charging is rated at 200kW.

The version of the Mercedes-Benz EQS for Malaysia has not yet been confirmed. Whatever it is, we will have to wait for 22 July for the unveiling by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
