6 Honda new models confirmed for Malaysia 2026 – Is the Prelude coming?

Honda Malaysia has revealed plans to launch 6 new models in Malaysia in 2026, in a bid to reach a baseline sales target of 60,000 units. Announced during the media appreciation dinner event, Honda also said its intention to expand the e:HEV lineup in Malaysia, with the hybrid system offering fuel efficiency, low emissions, and long-term cost savings.

As for what models exactly to be brought into Malaysia’s shores from Japan remains a mystery, but the emphasis on the S+ Shift suggested that the Honda Prelude might debut in Malaysia soon.

As of this date, the only Honda model to have the S+ Shift mode is the new Honda Prelude, a 2+2 hybrid sport coupe, powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder LFC-H4 engine paired with a two-motor hybrid system, mated to an e-CVT with simulated 8-speed S+ Shift mode transmission powering the front wheels. The Honda Prelude produces 203 PS and 314 Nm of torque with a 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The mentioned S+ Shift mode is a system to simulate stepped gears by using the paddles behind the steering wheel to select gears while driving.

Looking at our ASEAN neighbours, the Honda StepWgn e:HEV could be one of the six to come to Malaysia. The hybrid MPV has already been launched in Thailand and Indonesia. There was a minor change made to the Honda CR-V in Thailand back in December 2025, which may come to our Honda CR-V as well. Apart from that, more news will come from Honda Malaysia soon.
