2025 Honda HR-V facelift open for booking in Malaysia – minor updates, same three powertrains, launch Q3

Honda Malaysia has opened the order books for the 2025 Honda HR-V facelift, ahead of its official launch expected sometime this quarter. As expected, the HR-V’s mid-lifecycle update is mostly cosmetic, as the overall format remains unchanged.

What’s new?

Visual changes are mild. Up front, there’s a new minimalist grille design and a reshaped front bumper. At the rear, the full-width LED taillight bar get revised graphics. The RS variant also gets new 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, replacing the all-grey finish of the outgoing version.

Inside, the area below the AC controls now features an open storage tray. The infotainment screen remains 8 inches but now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

No change to the powertrain configurations, the 2025 Honda HR-V continues to offer three options:

  • 1.5L NA DOHC i-VTEC – 121 PS, 145 Nm, CVT
  • 1.5L VTEC Turbo – 181 PS, 240 Nm, CVT
  • 1.5L e:HEV (Hybrid) – 131 PS, 253 Nm (motor), with a 105 PS Atkinson-cycle engine

Honda says the hybrid system has been retuned for better responsiveness and improved engine sound under load, but official output figures remain the same.

The updated HR-V continues to come standard with Honda Sensing, which includes AEB, ACC with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, and Lead Car Departure Notification. New for the facelift are two features: Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) and Active Cornering Light, both aimed at improving night-time visibility and driving safety.

Two new colours have been added to the lineup, which are: Phoenix Orange Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl. Bookings are now open via the Honda Malaysia website, authorised dealerships, or through the HondaTouch app. Prices will be revealed closer to the launch date.
