2021 Hyundai Kona Electric launched in Malaysia, from RM 149,888

The 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric has been launched today in three variants, starting at a price of RM149,888.

  • Hyundai Kona e-lite – RM 149,888
  • Hyundai Kona e-plus – RM 169,888
  • Hyundai Kona e-max – RM 199,888

Deliveries are expected to take place in February 2022.

The price of the Hyundai Kona Electric is a rather reasonable one, finally offering a sub-RM200k full-electric car for the Malaysian market.

Both the e-lite and e-plus are equipped with a 39.2 kWh battery pack (305 km WLTP range), while the e-max gets a 64 kWh battery pack (484 km WLTP range).

On the outside, the all-electric Hyundai Kona is distinguished with the lack of a front-grille. On the inside, the main difference between the fossil-fuel-version and electric-version of the Hyundai Kona is the gear selector.

The electric Kona uses buttons instead of the conventional automatic gear knob.

Prior to its launch, Hyundai Malaysia had already received several bookings for the Hyundai Kona electric.
