Zeekr 009 launched in Thailand, approx. RM395k – 582km range, air suspension

Bound to be launched in Malaysia, the Zeekr 009 has just been launched in Thailand, not long after the RHD version was shown in the country back in August. Sold in one variant only, the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD, the fully-imported (CBU) luxury EV MPV fetches a price of THB3,099,000 (approx. RM395,330).

The Zeekr 009 essentially rivals the likes of the also-Malaysia-bound Denza D9. It measures 5,209 mm long, 2,024 mm wide, 1,812 mm tall, and has a wheelbase measuring 3,205 mm long. It also shares the same underpinnings with the all-electric Volvo EM90 which is a China-only Volvo model for now.

Sporting a very boxy appearance, the Zeekr 009 also features certain unique design elements such as the “joined” door handles and headlights that almost look like they came from the BMW i7 (the lower part) . Completing the look of the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD is a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres.

As for the suspension system of the Zeekr 009, it is fitting of a luxury car as it gets an air suspension system with Dynamic Damping Control (DDC). The setup at the front is an independent double wishbone setup while the setup at the back is a multi-link setup. The air suspension system allows for 5 ride height adjustments. As for the brakes, the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD gets ventilated disc brakes front and rear.

As the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant of the Zeekr 009, it gets a dual-motor setup that puts out 450 kW (612 PS) and 693 Nm at maximum. This configuration allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

Storing power in the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD is a 116-kWh battery pack that allows for a WLTP range of 582 km. The car supports DC charging of up to 310 kW, and this charges it from 10% to 80% in just 11.5 minutes.

Inside, the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD features a 6-seater configuration with 2 captain seats in the middle row. Think of it as an electric alternative to the Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge. The 2nd-row seats come complete with a foldable work desk, a roof-mounted screen, a conference-call camera, a remote control for the screen, one-step reclining Lounge Chair Mode, touchscreen controls on the door panels, and electric window blinds.

In the first row, the Zeekr 009 Flagship AWD comes with a 2-screen setup on the dashboard, a 4-way power-adjustable steering wheel, and power-adjustable seats. Other interior equipment includes a Yamaha Surround Stereo Luxury Sound System, a 2-section panoramic roof glass, an ambient sound system, and a multi-surround ambient lighting system.

In Thailand, the Zeekr brand has already launched 2 models with the Zeekr X and the Zeekr 009. Both models are bound to be launched in Malaysia.
