Stellantis expands regional presence with new parts hub in Malaysia

Stellantis has taken a significant step in expanding its aftersales network with the arrival of the first stock shipment at its new India & Asia Pacific Regional Parts Hub in Malaysia. The facility, set to be operational by the first quarter of 2025, is expected to improve parts availability and reduce wait times for customers and dealers across 20 countries.

The shipment marks the first phase of a €10 million investment, with €8 million worth of parts still in transit from North America, France, Italy, and China. In total, the hub will house 35,000 SKUs, supporting a range of Stellantis brands, including Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, and Leapmotor.

The opening of the Malaysia-based hub highlights Stellantis’ efforts to improve aftersales service in a region where logistics and supply chain challenges have often led to extended downtime for vehicles in need of repairs. By centralizing distribution, the company aims to streamline access to essential automotive parts, ensuring quicker deliveries and better support for dealerships.

Stellantis has not disclosed specific projections for how much the hub will reduce wait times, but the company positions this investment as a key step in addressing parts shortages and enhancing customer satisfaction.

The decision to establish the parts hub in Malaysia comes amid Stellantis’ broader push to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific market, where it competes with legacy automakers and an increasing number of Chinese brands. The move also reflects the company’s strategic focus on improving its service infrastructure, particularly in regions where logistical bottlenecks have historically been a challenge.

With its new facility expected to be fully operational in the coming months, the real test will be whether Stellantis can successfully deliver on its promise of faster, more efficient parts distribution across the region.
