Honda Malaysia extends hybrid battery warranty to 10 years for e:HEV and i-DCD models

Honda Malaysia has extended the hybrid battery and components warranty to 10 years with unlimited mileage for all purchases of Honda e:HEV models starting from 1st May 2026. The Honda e:HEV lineup includes the Honda City e:HEV, Honda City Hatchback e:HEV, Honda HR-V e:HEV, Honda Civic e:HEV, and Honda CR-V e:HEV.

This announcement is made in conjunction with the “Hybrid Done Right” campaign by Honda Malaysia, which features a series of programmes designed to showcase the benefits of Honda e:HEV technology while rewarding customers with special offers. The warranty extension not only applies to newly purchased Honda e:HEV models but also to existing Honda e:HEV owners. It also covers previous-generation i-DCD models such as the Honda Jazz Hybrid, Honda City Hybrid, and Honda HR-V Hybrid.

Back in 2017, Honda returned to the hybrid powertrain market with the debut of the Sport Hybrid i-DCD (Intelligent Dual-Clutch Drive), a compact hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a built-in electric motor. Current e:HEV models use the i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) system, which comprises two electric motors—one for propulsion and the other acting as a generator.

The hybrid battery warranty has been extended from the original 8 years to 10 years with unlimited mileage, while selected hybrid components are now covered for up to 10 years, compared to the previous 5-year coverage.

In addition, the hybrid battery and components warranty coverage has also been extended to second-hand e:HEV and i-DCD owners. Subsequent owners remain eligible for coverage upon transfer of ownership, with validity of up to the 10th year of the warranty period. With this initiative, Honda Malaysia aims to enhance the ownership experience of its hybrid models by providing long-term benefits and greater peace of mind.
