Wisedrive launched in Malaysia, AI can now inspect used cars
Wisedrive has just launched in Malaysia, and it is an AI-based car inspection service. Using artificial intelligence, Wisedrive claims it is designed to help buyers and industry stakeholders better understand the condition of used vehicles, helping decision-making when buying or selling cars. Wisedrive technology also helps individual sellers or used car dealers to accurately depict the condition of their vehicles, allowing for accurate pricing.
Wisedrive Malaysia, Country Manager, Hafiz Zubir stated, “We are proud to be part of the Wisedrive ecosystem, which is built on a shared vision — using technology and data to improve transparency, efficiency, and trust within the automotive ecosystem. Through this partnership, we aim to pioneer Wisedrive’s expansion and localisation in Malaysia, while bringing strong product capability and regional experience to the local market”.
The Wisedrive AI technology operates by comparing visual and audio data against thousands of known problems. Wisedrive claims the AI has analysed 150,000 visual and 31 million audio datasets covering 8,245 car models and variants, including national brands like Proton and Perodua from model years 1985 and 1994, respectively.
The Wisedrive technology is built to deliver a smooth end-to-end process for the customer, with a 2-minute booking process, a 90-minute inspection session, and the full final vehicle report instantly available.
Wisedrive Southeast Asia CEO, Phillip Moeller, said, “Malaysia will be the first country for Wisedrive’s expansion into Southeast Asia with fully operational teams and supporting partners, in a country that not only is a car-producing nation, but is also a market with higher penetration of AI and technology consumption.”
Wisedrive’s expansion in Malaysia is designed to create commercial value by understanding inspection, diagnostics, and risk data, which enables banks, insurers, and dealers to price vehicles accurately. Vehicle workshops can also benefit from the technology in identifying problems and improving repair job efficiency.
Phillip Moeller added, “While we have seen the most progress of WISEDRIVE’s development in Malaysia, we are also expected to kick off pilot operations in Thailand and Indonesia in the first quarter of 2026″.
